Easter FlowerS

Picture
You have the opportunity to add to our beautiful display of flowers on Easter Sunday. Plants will be $10.00 each and can be dedicated in memory or in honor of a loved one. They will be a mix of unscented spring flowers. You can take your plant or plants, or have yours planted around the grounds for spring beauty year after year.

Sacred Seeds

In both our scriptures this morning, we will hear stories of resurrection. Dry bones that get up and live after Ezekiel prophecies to them, and Lazarus, the close friend of Jesus, who died, was buried in a tomb, and then was brought back to life.

Whether literal or metaphorical, can you identify any aspects or areas of your life that you believe are dead, but could be born anew?

A friendship, a relationship?

Are there aspects of your life that you believe could be transformed if they were allowed to die, and rise again?

Is there a path in your life that you thought was a dead end? Would it’s resurrection lead to new life, or bear new fruit?

I ask these questions in order to plant some sacred seeds.  If, in the living of your faith life, you find that something sprouts, or germinates, I hope that you will let me know!

Minute for Mission

Picture
The gifts you give to OGHS are leveraged with those of others across the United Church of Christ bringing a greater impact to the work being done with local and global partners. Your support enables us to respond to a variety of global and local concerns by addressing advocacy, sustainable development, refugee and asylum issues, migration, disasters, and assisting those most in need and vulnerable among us.

The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.
