Our Congregation

We are a congregation with a history of and joy in welcoming all (and we do mean all).​  Our church family is made up of people of different backgrounds, different ages, different abilities, different orientations, and different opinions and viewpoints - all joined by our deep desire to live the love of Christ with each other and our neighbors in the world.  We welcome you, too.  

Our Presbytery & Synod

We are part of the Presbytery of Cayuga-Syracuse (click here to visit their website) which encompasses the four counties of Cayuga, Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison Counties in Central New York. 

Our presbytery is part of the Synod of the Northeast (click here to visit their website) which includes eight states in the Northeast US.

We are a congregation worshiping a loving and forgiving God who blesses us abundantly.

We commit to being an open, welcoming, serving congregation where faith and life come together.

Our mission is to support spiritual growth, provide for basic needs ​and set an example by living Christ’s teaching.

Presbyterian Church (USA)

We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and trace our history to 16th Century Protestant Reformation and specifically the writings of John Calvin (1509-1564). We believe in the sovereignty of God, the authority of Scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers. It is everyone’s job — ministers and lay people alike — to share this Good News with the whole world. That is also why the Presbyterian church is governed at all levels by a combination of clergy and laity, men and women alike.

Safe Church

​We believe that all people are children of God and recognize the individual dignity of each person. All who come to Robinson Elmwood United Church are entitled to an environment free from sexual misconduct. The care and safety of children, youth and vulnerable adults participating in the life and worship of our church are a particularly high priority.

​Guided by the love and justice of Jesus Christ, our Session has approved a Safe Church policy to assist us in fulfilling these beliefs.  To view our Safe Church policy, click on the button to the left.
